The 'Renzo Giubergia' Foundation and De Sono Associazione per la Musica joined forces in 2012, thanks to the commitment of Paola Giubergia and Francesca Gentile Camerana, to launch a joint project, perfectly aligned with their respective institutional objectives.
Young people are at the centre of the synergy, through activities that enhance new talents.
De Sono has been active in the field of music education, through scholarships, advanced training courses and publishing initiatives, since 1988.
Its work dedicated to the excellence of the territory has attracted the attention of the major educational institutions, favouring the inclusion of many instrumentalists in orchestras and musical realities of international renown.
The 'Renzo Giubergia' Foundation has taken up the same commitment, setting up a cycle of activities sewn around the qualities of young musicians.
The awarding of an annual prize to an emerging performer, presented at a solo concert at the Turin Conservatory, undoubtedly constitutes the soul of this joint project.
But also the series of concerts in little - or not at all - explored venues in the region revolves mainly around the participation of promising musicians who are in the process of establishing themselves on the international scene.
It is precisely this commitment to young people that ensures a solid understanding between the two partners.
The Foundation was created in memory of Renzo Giubergia, his passion for music and his constant commitment to cultivating talent: the organisation operates in his memory, but above all draws inspiration from his teachings and his refined cult of chamber music repertoire.
Fundamental, right from the start, is Ersel's support, which enables the invention of innovative projects, displaying a courage that is quite rare in the field of music organisation: unusual programmes and venues that are often difficult to turn into concert halls, or rather unusual programmes suggested precisely by the history, each time different, that one breathes in the selected locations.
The attention with which the public, made up of enthusiasts and at the same time friends of the Foundation, has been following the activities since 2012 confirms the value of the initiative.
Born in Turin, after studying Architecture, she created and developed her own business. After this first, important experience, she joined Ersel as External Relations Manager in charge of planning and organizing cultural events. A great lover of contemporary works, she boasts in her collection some masterpieces by important international artists, meeting and cultivating in her career sincere bonds of friendship with authors and gallery owners.
Since 2002, the year Ersel moved its offices to the historic Ceriana palace in Turin, she has personally curated more than 80 events: exhibitions, conferences and previews realized in collaboration with the most important international galleries and auction houses. From 2022, the activity she directs will extend to a new exhibition space in Milan, designed and hosted in the local Ersel headquarters.
She is President of the Renzo Giubergia Foundation, established in memory of her father, a great music lover who died in 2010, of which she operationally directs all initiatives. She is a board member of the Paideia Foundation, established in '93 by the will of her family, one of the most active nonprofit organizations in Piedmont in supporting children with disabilities and their families. Very attached to her city, she represents Ersel in the Council for the Enhancement of the Artistic and Cultural Heritage of Turin and from 2013 to 2019 she also held the position of President of Cento per cento lettori, an association that arose on the initiative of private individuals with the aim of giving new impetus to the Circolo dei Lettori in Turin.
